The Witches' Spell by William Shakespeare
For the recital of 'The Witches' Spell' the children used the app Clips. It is a multi media app which enables children to layer images, audio and text to create fabulous videos.

Cross Country
Congratulations to all our students who participated in the Cross Country. Special mention goes to Daniel Williams for winning the Year Two Boys race, Halle Worthington for coming fourth and Arliah Hillman for coming third in the Year Two race!
Term Three
Poetry Dioramas
We have been reading a lot of poetry and reciting it into apps such as Clips and Book Creator. For visual arts and STEAM we created some of the scenes imagined from our poems and turned them into dioramas. A diorama is a three-dimensional scene used to creatively express learning.

Two Dimensional Shapes
For the last couple of weeks we have been learning about two dimensional shapes. We have learnt their names, their features and where we might see them (both inside the classroom and beyond). We have been on scavenger hunts and then used Venn diagrams to classify the shapes we found based on their attributes - you can see these in our Maths Scrapbooks. Finally, we have used some digital technologies to create our own 2D shapes. The first was using the app "Geoboard" on the class iPads. Secondly, we used the school's laptops to flip, slide and turn 2D shapes using MS Paint. We hope you like looking at them as much as we did creating them!

More Maths
In number this term we have been learning about the relationship between repeated addition, multiplication and arrays.
Array Cities
Term Four
Aesop's Fables
Not only have we been learning about Aesop and his fables, but we have also been learning about summarising. This morning we worked in pairs to read and then succinctly summarised a fable in 25 words. It's not as easy as it sounds...!
Halloween-My Dead Bunny
We have been reading a lot of poetry over the last two terms. The book My Dead Bunny had an AA, BB rhyme so we decided to have a go at writing our own AA, BB poetry. We also watched a tutorial by the illustrator James Foley and created our own zombie bunnies for Halloween.
