From the Principal’s Desk
Welcome to the 2016 school year and in particular to families new to North Kal. Our school has been providing quality education and care for 114 years and we look forward to building on this proud tradition during 2016 and beyond. I have been privileged to serve in the role of principal at North Kal since 2009. The strength of our school lies in the dedication of teaching and support staff, along with the strong advocacy from our school families, led by the volunteers in our P&C and School Council.
Here is a snapshot of some things we are focusing on in 2016 to drive school improvement:
Mathematics – developing problem solving skills and strategies
Early Childhood Education – addressing needs arising from the ‘National Quality Schools’ (NQS) audit and in particular improving the physical environment (play and work spaces) for our junior students
Developing Skills in Information and Communication Technologies - a specialist teacher has been appointed to teach specific age appropriate skills and support classroom teacher development
The daily business of this school is to provide the challenge for students to progress academically, socially and physically. We welcome your input and enquiries in how we go about addressing the needs of your child.
